Cornhill Castle Wedding

Ross & Simone | Cornhill Castle

February Fairytale at Cornhill Castle

Simone & Ross reached out to me a year before their big day when they found the perfect date at their perfect venue – Cornhill Castle. They managed to get a date close to their 11th anniversary together which was the a little bit of fate for them. They are teenage sweethearts who have the most beautiful daughter and son. I’m so genuinely happy for this couple who have started a very exciting new chapter.

From beginning to end, the day was filled with love, laughter and beautiful details.

Simone had the normal bridal nerves as I arrived at Cornhill but with a glass of champagne, her mum, sisters, daughter and niece by her side, they soon disappeared!

One thing I loved about their day was that every one of their suppliers were local – so it was like walking into a family party where everyone is comfortable with one another.

Her beautiful gown along with bridesmaid dresses were from the fantastic Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Bridal Boutique in Glasgow. Simone raved about her experience here and her dress was absolutely stunning!

Flowergirls looking at brides dress

Simone’s flower girls are the star of the show in the morning with lots of fun and laughter to keep everyone going. We got this gorgeous shot of them looking at her dress which is one they can recreate in years to come.

Simone choose the wonderful ARK Bridal to do her makeup along with Hairtrip by Nicki for hair. They’re a fantastic duo. They are so familiar with Cornhill Castle, from the staff to knowing where the best lighting is so they can keep everyone right.

Groom at Cornhill Castle

Ross, the groom, got his kilt from Slanj Kilts

He may be my favourite groom (sorry Derick! You’re up there too). From not being afraid to show his emotions to being absolutely on point for the camera. There will be some new poses introduced to couples inspired by Ross! What a guy!

The Ceremony, Couples Session & Dancing

Their ceremony was conducted by my favourite humanist, Wilson Butler. He married my husband and I at Airth Castle and I cannot recommend him more.

Cornhill Castle beautifully transform the marque in to the most gorgeous ceremony room filled with rose petals and plenty of space.

Simone and Ross used Bells Florist in Wishaw for to dress the room impeccably to create a gorgeous fairytale background.

After the ceremony, we shot their group photos and then it was onto the couples session.

I like to keep my couples out for around 30 minutes so you can get back and enjoy your guests!

Cornhill has so many gorgeous spots so whether the weather brings us sunshine or snow – you’ll never be stuck! The gardens are immediately outside the castle but there are areas with a bit more seclusion just a min or two away. That way you can let your friends and family mingle in the sunshine (fingers crossed) while you nip away for some quick photographs.

I normally sneak you back out in the evening too before cutting that cake and dancing your feet off!
